4th Grade Language Arts
I sent a packet of worksheets home with students on Monday. As far as pacing, I told
them to go in order and do one side per day. We have studied all three of those parts of
speech but have not done a lot with them lately because of our Young Author books.
Before school closed we were working on getting our stories completed for Young Authors.
We are going to continue writing the books since they will be graded. Most of the students
got to the point where they were ready to edit their rough draft, create page breaks and print
their stories so they could start illustrating them. I would much appreciate it if you could go
over your child's story with them to help edit and revise if they are not to that point yet. You
can also share it with me on google docs and I can write comments for your child. When they are
done editing, print the pages off so students can illustrate the story. Our goal is to have the stories
done by the time everyone comes back so I can bind them and grade them. I have attached a
document below detailing everything that the stories need. If you can not print them at home let
me know and I can print them at school for you to pick up.
I also sent home two spelling lists. The smaller numbered ones are due this
week. The spelling test will be on Thursday on spellingcity.com. The test can
be taken at any point during the day. The test for the second list will be on
Thursday, March 26.
